Investigators in Princeton jogger murder case seek dark-colored SUV

This article is a post from the Boston Globe.

Detectives investigating the August slaying of Vanessa Marcotte, a 27-year-old jogger whose body was found in a wooded area in Princeton, are trying to locate the driver of a dark-colored SUV that was spotted near the crime scene.

The office of Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. announced the development in the closely watched case on Wednesday afternoon.

Prosecutors said in a statement that the SUV was “seen around the time of the murder near where [Marcotte’s] body was found,” near her mother’s home on Brooks Station Road, on the evening of Aug. 7.

Marcotte, a Google employee who lived in New York City, was visiting family when she went out for a jog and never returned to her mother’s residence.

  • Such a beautiful young woman who was a giver & was taken from her family by a monster who’s complete filth. My continued prayers to her parents & family and all who loved and admired Vanessa.

  • To the family, friends and co-workers of Vanessa:

I am just a complete stranger who saw this brutal tragedy on the news. I hope that they find this ……. fast and bring at least a shred of relief knowing that this offender will pay for her death. Though there is very little information on the vehicle, I will certainly keep my eyes peeled. Though I know words seem so small in times like these, just remember these two things: 1) there are many people that grieve your loss with you and 2) if you open your hearts and minds, Vanessa will forever be with you.
